Why go to Baja?
San Diego is in a very special place; right next to Baja. It is amazing to be able to drive 30 minutes south, cross a border and enter an entirely different country. The surf is uncrowded, the food is delicious, the coast is less developed, the people are warm, and there is adventure in the air!

Why go surfing in Baja rather than just surfing in San Diego?
If you have seen La Jolla Shores or Del Mar in the summertime, you will know that the crowds can actually make learning to surf difficult. Imagine this: standing on our Baja beach house balcony, looking out over a sunny empty beach at the green empty waves. The only people who surf out here are the people who come with us.

How do kids do on the trips?
Kids love it! There’s a lot of interesting stuff to see on the drive, the surf lesson is super fun, and the food is great (along with the live musical entertainment.) and we always take the line in at the border which moves fastest and is right next to all the vendors, which means there’s an endless amount of useless wares to look at.
Is the border wait long?
We usually spend between 30 and 50 minutes in line at the border. We’ve figured out which is the fastest and most entertaining lane, right next to all the vendors with endless amounts of useless wares to look at. Plus we always have some Mexican ice cream and churros for desert in the border line.

What if I’m a vegetarian or have other dietary requests?
No problem, just let us know.

What if I already know how to surf?
If you already know how to surf, you can go in front of the house. It’s a fun beachbreak with long sandbars. If you have a group of people who know how to surf we can take you to find the best waves around. La Fonda, a great beachbreak, is 5 minutes away. San Miguel, the famous right point, is 25 minutes away.

We will pick you up around 9 a.m. and drop you off at around 8:30 p.m.

Can I get sick from eating the food or drinking the water in Mexico?
