Mexico
You will become very familiar with this beautiful country: jungles, coastline, mountains, waves. You will also become familiar with its beautiful people. It’s a fiery, passionate and happy culture which is legendary around the world…siestas, fiestas, tequila, cerveza, tacos…

Logistics
We will be spending 3-5 nights at 5 key destinations. The drive between destinations is between 2 and 6 hours in our 2006 Ford 15 seater van with bench seating. The much needed AC will keep you cool. Most of the boards and bags will be secured to the large roof rack and covered in case of rain (it is the tropics). The rear bench seat is removed to provide some extra storage space.

While driving between destinations we'll stop for a meal, for any interesting sights, and perhaps for a surf if the waves look good.

While at each destination the main objective is to surf good waves. When the wind picks up or we are surfed out we will do some local exploring.

Accomodation
We stay at a variety of clean and stylish accommodation including house, condo, hotel, pension and palapa (round thatch roofed dwelling). Each place is chosen based on proximity to the surf and it's cultural flavor. You'll be amazed at the places we stay. Each guest will have his/her own bed, usually sharing a room with one other guest. If the room is big there may be 3 guests sleeping in it.

Eating
Mexican food is good! We will often stop at taco stands and small family run restaurants. When we are staying at a place with a kitchen Pia will be the head chef for a few delicious gourmet home cooked meals.

The Waves
The variety of waves and consistency of (sometimes very big) swell are two of Mexico's biggest blessings. The points are generally fun and playful and the beach breaks are generally powerful, hollow and peaky. The destinations we've chosen are some of the most consistent spots where we are practically guaranteed excellent waves. Expect to get barreled. There are waves year round and giant swells can hit during any month. The summertime (July-September) swells are especially big!

The Temperature
It's tropical. You'll be surfing in boardies. Bring a rashie or long sleeve top to wear for sun protection.

Other Activities
You will have opportunities to do many other things besides surf. We will be doing yoga some days. There are plenty of fun bars and dance clubs in the cities! We'll take you to waterfalls and remote villages, as well as old churches and public dances in the larger cities.

The Experience
Many world lessons are waiting for you on this trip, if you want them. You will be challenged by the journey, by your fellow trippers and by the waves. Be flexible; an open attitude will allow you to enjoy last minute changes of plans and unexpected diversions rather than stress over them. One of the biggest thrills of traveling is not knowing quite what will happen, but knowing that it will be an adventure. “Although it’s good to have an end to journey towards, it’s the journey that matters in the end.” You will also make lasting friendships with the guides and fellow trippers, as people always do when they share such amazing experiences, waves, challenges and laughs.
